Inputs and Outputs
With functions, the x variable is called the input, and the result is called the output. A function is a math machine that gives us a new output for every different input we put in it. Below we're going to make a table just like we did for x and y values. Except this function table will show x and f(x) values, or like we now say, "inputs and outputs".
