Domain
The domain of a function is the minimum and maximum values of x. Why do we need domain? Well most functions go on forever in both directions. But we only care about outputs from a certain range of inputs. For example, let's say we had a function that predicted the amount of bread our little bakery would need. The input is the people visiting and the output is the amount of bread we'd need. We wouldn't care about negative x values because you can't have a negative number of people. We also wouldn't care about really high x values, like 1,000,000, because we couldn't possible hold that many people in our bakery. So let's use a domain of [0, 15], that means our bakery could hold anywhere from 0 to 15 people.
