Absolute Value Equations

We can find the absolute value of an equation just like we can find the absolute value of a number. The only catch is that an absolute value equation almost always has two answers. Why? Because |4| = 4 and |-4| = 4. So if we were to undo the 4 we don't know if it came from the 4 or the -4.

Special Case

If you end up with an equation like |x - 4| = 0, then there will only be one answer because the absolute value of zero is just zero.
